Alternative Approaches and Preventive Measure

Fight oil with oil
Essential oil, that is. Doctors recommend adding two drops of lemon grass essential oil to a half-ounce of carrier oil such as apricot kernel, flaxseed, with hazel, or hazelnut oil. Apply the mixture to your face every cleansing, but be certain not to use more than two drops of lemongrass essential oil, Steele cautions. It can irritate sensitive skin. The lemongrass helps degrease the skin and regulates overactive sebaceous glands. Keep the mixture away from your eyes. You may use it on a daily basis, if necessary.

Keep your balance
Some guys think that if they scrub hard enough, they can actually wash every drop of oil off their face, reducing the occurrence of pimples. Not true! Men can create a new problem of dry skin if they overbathe and overcleanse in their attempt to get rid of oil. Then the skin is constantly fighting to rebalance itself

One of the best ways to tell if you are getting your skin to a proper balance is to wash it as you normally do, and then see how it feels a few hours later. Are you greasy. Then you need to find a different, more effective cleanser. Does your skin feel tight? Then ease up on the grease-cutting products. Your skin is not as oily as you thought.
